Hillel also might have been in the Temple with 12-year-old Jesus, in 7 AD. We know Jesus was there for three days, and on the third day everyone was amazed at his understanding and his answers.
If people were amazed enough to go get the top teachers in town, then Hillel was there. And if Hillel was there on the third day, then Hillel was also amazed by Jesus.
Which is pretty amazing! :)
