Jesus, Herod & Caesar: Year-by-Year is a work in progress that attempts to recontstruct a comprehensive overview of all the available evidence plus a few plausible hypotheses. The educated guesswork is to fill in the blanks, but no more than necessary. Actually, nearly all of Year-by-Year is simply a summarized retelling of historical facts. The rest relies on the unfinished research of ongoing scholarly investigation.

Obviously, scholarship and debate continues in many areas, but that should not stop us from trying to rebuild the picture as accurately and completely as possible today. Readers should understand it is not perfect. The author hopes it will inspire future efforts towards improvement. But as it now stands, this project is the most comprehensive and consistently plausible reconstruction that has ever been compiled of the New Testament Events in their Historical Context. (So far, up to 14 AD.)
